K-Lys 2020
35-year-old vines planted on the Causses, on a single plot of iron-rich red clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. Hand-harvested, gentle extraction, long maceration, aged in large oak foudres for 24 months. Plush berries, dark, handsome, peppered with spice, spiked with spruce. Velvet tannins, love-me-tender mouth and a long, moreish finish. What’s not to love?

About the winemaker
Emmanuel Rybinski took over his father’s estate high on the Causses (350m) in 2004 with the soils top of mind: not any old clay-limetone but Siderolithic clay-limestone packed with iron from the tertiary age (-50MM years), Kimmeridgian clay-limestone with fossils from the jurassic age (-150MM) and Stampian clay-limestone with marlstone from lake erosion (-25MM). The wines are vinified plot by plot – go there for a terroir immersion, and agro-forestry tour and taste of his diverse and delicious line-up
