About the Winemakers

Mathias and Camille are a brilliant team, in the vineyard and the winery, although it’s mostly Mathias following the cornucopia of viticultural experiments on the land and mostly Camille bringing the poetry and sensitivity to the low-intervention winemaking process, leaving time and nature to do their work in lots of different aging vessels. They are firm believers in agroforestry to enhance biodiversity, for the benefit of the grapes, the estate and the environment. With quality grapes, they produce sought-after wines that have taken Bergerac to new heights and places it has never been before.

They took over the family farm in 2008 and for 10 years they steered the estate towards biodynamic viticulture, then in 2018 they began downsizing and now take care of 9 hectares. Having a smaller estate allows them to work it like a garden. They are planting trees or grafting those that arrive from the forest, making herbal infusions and using animal-traction to work the soils or just leaving the grasses to grow.

After a series of losses due to climatic incidents, they created Hors de Murs - a collection of wines crafted from grapes cultivated by fellow vignerons and vinified together at Lestignac. Catch them if you can.
