About the Winemaker
Pauline Broqua farms 7 hectares in a wild and remote corner of North Averyon, at the foothills of the Aubrac plateau, where the Lot and the Truyère rivers meet. The vines are planted between 240 and 400 metres above sea level on terraced slopes with sandy soils on granite bedrock. Pauline was born into farming but trained as a sommelier. After life in Toulouse at renown wine shop “Les Temps des Vendages” and wonderful restaurant “La Pente Douce”, she moved to Entragues-sur-Truyères to work alongside Nicolas Camarans. In 2018 she took on her own plots of Fer Servadou, Negrét de Banhars, Chenin and Cabernet Francs at Domaine des Buis. She works without pesticides and within a frame work of pristine nature to craft pure, almost ethereal wines that sublimate the terroir. It’s tough work, but in the glass, it feels like plain sailing. A savvy blend of strength and elegance.
