Are you ready for a true love story? Greg and Laure Aurel will be sharing theirs with Pech Del Cel this Valentine’s day! Greg was conceived on this vineyard (who needs dating apps when there are grapes to pick?) He was born and bred on these chalky soils in Cahuzac sur Vere, but his parents pushed him to do something more “secure” than make wine for a living, so he found himself in the muddy field of banking - although he never lost sight of the original plot: “In 2011, just after our daughter was born, it was all about to disappear, the time had come to invest myself. Everything I’d lived through as a child, all the energy passed on by my predecessors - that’s what brought me be back to the vines, the cellar, the promises and disillusions, the fun and the fears, and the passionate and fascinating people here…” Laure and Greg are active members of #terresdegaillac, a group of 20+ grower-makers in Gaillac who share the same philosophy. Through them, they discovered the pleasures of natural wine and a logical approach to working the vines. Certified organic since 2020, the wines of Pech del Cel are fermented by indigenous yeasts, there’s no fining or filtering and minimum or zero- added sulfites.
