Discover the secrets of fine natural wine with Samuel Baylet, artisan-winemaker newly installed in St Antonin Noble Val.
Samuel will be serving his first own-label wines crafted from grapes harvested with friends on the limestone plateau of Gaillac and be inviting us to compare and contrast them with a selection of wines by Domaine de Brin where he worked for 3 years before setting up his own operation. The evening will kick off at 6pm with Samuel’s pet-nat (sparkling wine), brought to life using the traditional champagne method (he will explain). The bubbles will be followed by two gastronomic white wines: a refined 100% Mauzac matured in sandstone amphores at Domaine de Brin and his own vivifying 100% Mauzac aged in 4-wine oak barrels: two pure, round, mineral whites made from the same grape variety and grown on very similar soils, but aged differently by different people. After that, we’ll taste and savour a red wine by each vigneron, through which a wealth of secrets behind the making-of natural wines will be revealed…
All wines will be served with cheese and charcuterie by Patricia at Ateliers Occitanes.
